It is a red wine, without mincing words. Simple, but not inconsistent, with a fresh, enjoyable and rustic taste. Rosso Casa e Chiesa is made by letting nature proceed freehand: no interventions are made on the cultivation or on the must, which ferments spontaneously and is not subject to temperature controls.
It is aged in steel and cement for about 24 months. At the sight it is dark, tending to ruby. It is also dark on the nose, of the same shade as the fruit that can be found there: plum and wild blackberries.
The taste is fresh and satisfying. Casa e Chiesa is the name that derives from the location of the vineyards, which are located halfway between the house of the Lenzini producers and the church of Gragnano, a district of Lucca where this estate with strong biological and biodynamic principles is located.
Red Merlot wine is traditionally close to meat first courses, but does not disdain risotto with mushrooms and radicchio. Absolutely essential together with game, as well as a side dish with blue and aged cheeses.
